Chiropody is a branch of medical science that involves the assessment and management of foot and lower limb disorders through therapeutic, surgical, orthotic and palliative means.

In the province of Ontario, a chiropodist (a.k.a. podiatric medicine practitioner/foot specialist) is a healthcare professional specialized in the assessments, treatments and preventions of diseases of the foot and lower limb. This includes the management of a wide varieties of disorders, injuries and local manifestations of systemic conditions.
Foot deformities, infections and injuries not only limit your mobility, but can detrimentally affect your health and quality of life.
In order to be able to practice as a registered chiropodist, one needs to be registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
